An innovation that kept Google Play from displaying notifications of updates and progress in installing them lasted about half a year. As a result of this innovation, some users had to use third party applications, which again showed the process of installing updates.
User dissatisfaction seems to have led the company to consider the innovation unpopular and to roll back the changes. However, so far not everyone has been able to see the notifications. Thus, according to Android Police, notifications of updates are still not displayed on their devices. At the same time, there are already enough screenshots of users who have received notifications on the web. It is possible that in time the function will work for everyone and the need to use AppNotifier and other third-party applications to track progress in installing updates will disappear.
