A new spy was detected on Google Play

The Google Play app store constantly struggles with unwanted and dangerous software, removing all suspicious programs in a timely manner and carefully monitoring all new products. However, despite significant successes in preventing user infections, some malicious programs still manage to pass unnoticed through a complex sieve of control algorithms.

The other day RiskIQ company announced the identification of an advertising clicker in an application that monitors the battery status. Utility Advanced Battery Saver, by the way, honestly fulfilled the stated responsibilities - shut down energy-intensive processes and monitored the battery status, but at the same time hacked confidential user data and generated artificial clicks on advertising.
According to experts, scammers managed to get personal data of at least several tens of thousands of downloaded Android-users.
