Counterpoint Research quarterly analyzes the number of smartphones sold worldwide and displays general sales statistics and the most popular mobile devices among users. A recent study of the popularity of smartphones in the third quarter brought quite unexpected results. The first place went to the iPhone XR, the start of sales of which took place in the fall of 2018. The share of smartphone sales in the world was 3 percent.
The second place in the popularity ranking went to the Galaxy A10, which represents the middle line of the South Korean manufacturer. Their sales share is 2.6 percent. And, finally, with a wide margin closes the top three most popular Galaxy A50 models with a result of 1.9 percent.
Note that in the top 10 popular smartphones there are three OPPO models (A5, A5s, A9), another Samsung model (Galaxy A20), as well as iPhone 11, Xiaomi Redmi 7A and Huawei P30.
