Epic Games sues Google and Apple

-
The App Store and Google Play prohibit in-game payments in applications, each payment must pass through a system that charges itself a commission fee. Last week, the popular game Fortnite was blocked in the Google and Apple app stores, as its developers added the ability to make payments bypassing the stores.

The companies said in a single voice that all developers at their sites are working under the same rules, one of which is a ban on third-party payments in applications. However, it seems that Epic Games was ready for such a turn of events, as it immediately filed a lawsuit, calling for a response from Google and Apple. The developer insists that the actions of companies are aimed at building a monopoly in the market, and taking advantage of their position, they charge developers unreasonably high fees.

If the court finds Epic Games to be right, the gaming industry expects great changes.
