Huawei is preparing to charge patent fees for 5G technologies from Apple and Samsung
- AHuawei is one of the major players in the market of technologies and equipment for 5G-networks and does not mind to use this fact. Thus, according to Bloomberg, the Chinese want to get money for their technology and are already negotiating with Samsung and Apple on the amount of royalties.
For several years, Apple has been in court with Qualcomm because of the excessive royalties, which the chipmaker demanded for its patents. In the end, the parties with difficulty, but managed to reach an agreement, however, the Cupertinians have never concealed that they are willing to pay for the patents, but do not want to overpay. Perhaps the best solution would be cooperation with Huawei, whose representatives have already announced their desire to charge a more democratic price. This will make it possible to resolve all current issues outside of the courtroom.
By the way, the current contract between Qualcomm and Apple will end only in 2027.
