At a conference in Hong Kong, one of Samsung’s executives spoke about the company's plans for the production of flash memory chips. So, it was noted that next year the transition will be made to support the standard UFS 3.0, which will greatly increase the throughput of flash memory.
Currently, business class phones use UFS 2.1 memory, which is almost twice as low as the 3.0 standard. Using the memory of a new type, it will be possible to achieve a throughput of 12 Gb / s, and the overall dimensions of the chips will remain at the same level. Starting next year, new-type chips up to 512 GB will be available for purchase.
In addition, it became aware of the plans of the South Korean brand to launch mass production of single-chip memory chips in 2021.
